• Snippet_2 Here’s the LAST class snippet.  It’s the one you helped with ~ our flip flop charm!  Aren’t they cute!  There’s a whole variety:  orange, green, blue (as shown), pink, purple, some silver … they are SOOOOO cute!  BTW, I have a surprise in class.  I bought something (actually 6 somethings) while I was buying the flip flip charms.  We’ll give one away in EVERY class!  You WILL want this!

2006_05_25_004_adj2006_05_25_007_adj2006_05_25_002_adj_12006_05_25_011_4x6_1Okay, big brother’s are a BIG help ~ unfortunately not always in the way that parents want.  Neal taught Riley how to play in the hose.  At the end, you can tell he’d had a TON of fun!  The problem is that I’ll NEVER get him away from the water now!  We love playing outside!  Gotta love this time of year!

Don’t forget to mark you calendars for JUNE 20 ~ our HOT SUMMER open house & class sign-ups!  *A*

  • Okay, I’ve been banished to the computer room, which isn’t completely a bad thing.  It’s allowing me to post.  I wanted to watch Good Things Utah (a local version of "the View") because today they showed the recipe for Key Lime Teriyaki Chicken and it sounds SO GOOD!  That’s actually the reason I’ve been banished.  I tried to talk my oldest into letting me watch the show & he said "You can watch it in the office".  We can’t give up PBS Kids!

    Snippet1Snippet4_2Snippet2Snippet3_2

Here they are!  The letters are designed in a turn of the century schoolhouse type font.  The colors are blue, green, red and tan.  But it’s mostly tan.  The color papers are Scenic Route North Shore, and the alpha papers are from a variety of other companies so I won’t list them.  We’ll use LOTS of letters!  You will get an entire package of Making Memories Velvet Alphas (so you’ll have a TON left over for your other projects!)  We are using American Crafts ribbons (YUMMY!), Rebecca Sower ruler stickers, Making Memories: metal words, metal enamel word, ribbon charm, and of course the velvet alpha stickers!  It turned out REALLY COOL!

Let me know what you think!  I’ll try the chicken & let you know if it’s good.  TTFN!  *A*

  • Snippets_1Here they are!  My designs were approved, I have my supply list & product samples in.  YEAH!  Happy day!  We are using Pressed Petals metal titles, Making Memories flowers & Crystal Brads (my favorite!), Li’l Davis binder clips and chipboard word, Bazzill’s new edged paper, flowers, flower brads and Really Big Paper Clip.  Our paper lines are:  Scrapworks: Bellevue (one page), SEI: Paisley & Petals (two page), Bazzill with Scenic Route: Charlotte, and Chatterbox: Poolhouse.  I’m sure you’ll LOVE the fun colors and products we are using!  I like how they turned out!

NEW INFO!  I ADDED THIS TUESDAY! … All four layouts have titles this time!  THey are:  You can fly, Love unconditional, summer, and, depending upon which metal word you get … either mischievous, spirit or original.

I hope you like what you can see in these "snippets"!  I’ll put the full pics up on June 20.  Keep in mind that you can start signing up for classes when the store opens at 9:00.  Also, we will have the open house with two cool (free) make-n-takes!  Check back Wednesday for Learn "snippets".  I’m off to finish gathering supplies for Possibilities! tomorrow night!

2006_05_19_015_5x7On a personal note:  On the left is my oldest (Neal), his friend is on the right and his one-on-one teacher is in the middle … at preschool graduation last Friday.  They played pomp & circumstance as the kids came in, the kids did the alphabet song, the hukilau (Neal stood, but would NOT dance!), the aligator and the monkey rhyme (he DID participate in that! ~ He loves that so much we do it at home), and they had a slide show of the year.  The girls made scrapbooks for each of their kids.  I had gone in and helped them get started and gave them two years worth of old CK’s for ideas.  AMM and MM donated product to the cause!  They turned out so cute!  He loves looking through his!  We can’t wait for kindergarten!  TTFN!  *A*

  • I’m sorry that I haven’t been faithful this week!  I’m going to post the Possibilities! "snippets" today.  We have pre-school graduation and then I have a girls camp meeting at 1:00, so it will be later in the afternoon.  But I will do it today.  Then we’ll do learn on Monday.  So tune in!

It’s now 2:30 a.m. and I just emailed my supply lists to the store.  It’s amazing how long something that seems so simple can take.  I’ve been working on if for the past 4 1/2 hours, and I compile them as I go.  Imagine if I didn’t!  But it’s not just typing 3 lists ~ it’s making sure I have everything and ENOUGH of everything.  Plus, we have to have a sample page with all the papers & embellishments we used as a reference for our wonderful buyers.  Anyway, it’s late, so I won’t ramble … but I’ll get back to you soon!  Sweet Dreams!  *A*

  • 1976_easter_4I hope you all had a nice day!  Mine was good.  I had breakfast in bed, I got new running shoes (I walk/run for a minute on the treadmill), Bryan spoke in church & the parents (& my cool little bro.) came, we got HATCH FAMILY CHOCOLATES from the ward, we had dinner at my in-laws where the guys made it, got dinner for the kids and cleaned up after, and then we went to my parents and watched the most disappointing survivor finale EVER!  UGH!  We all know who the real survivor is & the last challenge I swear was custom made to have Danielle win!

This is my beautiful mom and I when I was two (1976).  We were lucky to have both moms in church with us to hear Bryan speak (Riley fussed the whole meeting!).  My mom is very tender-hearted and mother’s day is hard for her.  She goes to church and hears about all these "perfect" mothers and thinks about all her inadequacies (which aren’t nearly as many as she thinks!).  My friend Carey watched (while I was in the hall) my mom take my big "little" bros. hand and hold it for comfort.  Isn’t that what we all want?  My early years weren’t perfect (is anyone’s?) but growing up, I ALWAYS knew I was LOVED!  That’s the legacy I want to pass onto my sons.  I hope I can be a mom like my mom.  *A*

BTW … I’ve added a quote of the week feature.  It’s on your left.  I hope it helps!

  • 2006_05_11_0022006_05_11_001Isn’t it ironic.  This is Day #15, but when did I do most of my work?  In 12 straight hours yesterday.  POSSIBILITIES is DONE!  You can see a "snippet" here.  I’ll give more "snippets" and descriptions next week.  I promise!

My sweet hubby sanded and painted LEARN letters while I worked on layouts.  It’s funny, he wanted me to put him on the blog.  I told him HE could post if he wanted.  I should have reminded him that if you announce your service to the world, that is your reward!  😉  I am totally grateful!  He saved me an hour.  All joking aside, I am truly blessed to have a supportive husband!  Okay, I need to finish getting the boys breakfast and then … LEARN!  I’ve got 7 hours ~ PLENTY of time!  TTFN!  *A*

  • Okay guys, I am totally chained to the Creating Table!  I have ONE layout done!  3 more layouts (5 pages) left, plus LEARN.  Oh yeah, have I told you my deadline is tomorrow?  I’m sorry this will be short but I’m running out of time!

Okay, I totally can’t leave before I tell you what I’ve done.  First, I’ve gotten permission to use some stuff we don’t have at the store ~ but we will NOW!  At Winter CHA, Bazzil came out with the coolest paper ~ Scalloped Cardstock!  I’m using that (blue) with Scenic Route paper (blue & green & a little pink), some totally cute 1 1/2" May Arts ribbon with DAISIES on it!, MM SQUARE Crystal Brads, and a Bazzil flower!  You are going to die when you see it, it turned out SO cute!

Remember to mark your calendars for JUNE 20 (the open house)!  TTFN!  Back to the desk I go!  *A*

  • Dear friends!  I am sorry I didn’t post yesterday.  I’m totally going crazy!  The boys won’t go to bed on time, so that’s cutting into my "work" time.  Last night it was 12:30 that I was able to start.  I’ve been working on the POSSIBILITIES class I’m teaching on Wed.  I’ve had to gather & substitute & that takes time.  My oldest gets his cavities taken care of today, so there’s another couple of hours without work.  I’ll finish the class kits tonight & hopefully get at least one layout complete tomorrow before I leave to teach the class.  I’ll let you know what I get done tomorrow!  Thanks for your interest!  I also need to put up the pics from the EXPO!  Oh, yeah, the flip flops are in, so I’ll put a pic of that up too!  Love ya!  *A*

  • 2006_05_04_00112006_05_04_0021It’s amazing!  SPLASH is done.  I feel like I’ve been running around in circles and NOT accomplishing anything with this one!  But, it’s done and I like it.  The font is a chunky, swirly, 70’s, hip font!  The colors are fun: aqua blue, kiwi green, Pineapple yellow, and tangerine orange.  Fun and bright just right for the last month of our "lazy days" of SUMMER!  (BTW, whoever coined the phrase "lazy days of summer" certainly didn’t live in this day & age)  The papers have hibiscus flowers, stripes, flip flops and fun words on them.  The sun you can see will be one of four totally cute jellishments (Doodlebug Designs) ~ as you know, I choose the "least cute" whenever there is other options, so you’ll love the other three as well!  The binder clip is Li’l Davis There are 5 different words ~ so cute!  I want to show you the flip flop as a "snippet" and I haven’t received my order ~ so, as soon as I get them, I’ll post that.

Tomorrow and Saturday are the Scrapbook Expo, so I’ll post photos from my classes on Monday!  I hope you have a great weekend and your families are healthy!  TTFN!  *A*

  • Not much designing happening here ~ too much throwing up going on!  We’re having a nasty bout with the flu.  It started with my youngest Sunday night (up until 3:00) and continued with our oldest and me last night (up until 4:30).

I DID get the SPLASH papers done last night.  I just need to embellish!  I’ll get that done today & show you some snippets tomorrow!  (I hope)  Sorry I don’t have more information today!  *A*
