Sept. 30 from 10:00 to 12:30 ~ Is when I teach this class.  I have been talking about the License Plate Class for the last few months and I am finally putting it on the blog!  But, hurry!, quick because there are only 5 spots left!  The class is $20, remember that you need to provide your own license plates (that way you can personalize your album).  There are a few places you can get old license plates:  antique stores, your grandparent’s, ebay, or the DMV.

Also, there are a couple of spots left in the Possibilities! class on Friday, Sept. 15.  As always, thank you for your support!  *A*  p.s.  don’t forget to order your SPOOKY letters if you’re interested!

  • Hi friends!  Here’s my idea of how to finish the Spooky letters.  If you’d like to place an order, email me or comment here & I’ll contact you OR download the order form (by the Spooky pic) & follow the instructions.  I’ll post a supply list later.  The store is saying they will have all the supplies together (like they do for the Project of the Month.

    Spooky_3Spooky_order_form_3

Img_0001 Here’s your laugh for the day:  We talked in the last Possibilities class about how I burn things …  I burned this piece of pizza in the microwave on Saturday (after I dumped the first one on the floor)!  Oh, well ~ What’s new!?  Especially because I went in the computer room yesterday & the computer was burning (not on fire, but internally burning) so I turned it off & it’s at the computer hospital.  If you have a hard time getting hold of me in the next few days, you’ll know why!

BE SURE TO GET ME YOUR PAYMENT FOR THE SPOOKY LETTERS BEFORE SEPT. 2 ~ I WON’T PLACE YOUR ORDER WITHOUT IT!  Thanks to Carey for letting me use her computer!  hugs to all!  *A*

  • I did it!  My classes are all designed!  I LOVE how they turned out!  The Possibilities classes are a little more whimsical & I’ll teach you how to doodle.  The gather letters are to die for!  They are my favorite letters since kiSses!  I’ll start showing the snippets the first week in September because the openhouse is Sept. 20!

CONTEST!  CONTEST!  CONTEST!  CONTEST!  Look throught the new Creating Keepsakes Magazine (Sept. 2006) and find something that I designed.  Post here and I’ll get you the new AMM Couture com-Posies!  *A*

UPDATE:  Melissa won!  But don’t worry!  If you know the answer (wink, wink)… post here by Sunday night & we’ll draw another winner next Monday!  It’s EASY!

  • Spooky_1Today is the first day I smelled it … that {small} hint of fall in the air!  I know fall is far away, but for a moment this morning I realized that summer is almost over.

The store is cutting down on the number of classes for the next quarter.  I have been asked to teach "Possibilities!" & ONE wood letter class … "GATHER".

I had already designed "SPOOKY" {in my handwriting} letters and they turned out so cute, that it literally pains me to not teach them! SO … I thought that I’d finish them & put the completed letters (and a supply list) on the blog & the offer the wood to you ~ IF you promise me you’ll buy all your paper & embellishments at the AMM Retail Store!

The WOOD ONLY will be $14/set. I will need the number of sets you would like & your money by Sept. 2. The wood will be available on or about Sept. 20.  If you are interested, please comment on the blog or email me and I will give you information on how to get the money to me.

Please, DO NOT feel obligated … I just wanted to make them available to anyone who would like to have them!

    Love ya! *A*

  • Man, I put those pics up on the 7th!  I am totally cleaning [I guess not as fast as I can ~ because I’m posting here, but … oh, well who wants to clean anyway?] because my hubby has a meeting at my house in the dreaded front room aka: scrapbook class dumping grounds!  I have three hours to do it in, but I also have to clean the bathroom (just in case!), the kitchen floor (because, well, it needs it) and come up with some amazing dinner that won’t make my son’s stomach "sick" as my meals have been doing lately!  Really, things he used to like now make his stomach "sick"

The_greatest_gift_album_2006_07_005_3This is the class I’m teaching at The Original Scrapbook USA Expo sign-ups have already started.  Simply follow the link above to register.  Okay, the down-low on the class:

The class name is "The Greatest Gift".  The cost is $25.  It’s held Friday Sept. 22 & Saturday Sept. 23 from 4:30 to 6:00.  It’s classified as a baby album, but it’s totally appropriate for any child you love.  Use it for yourself, your parents, grandparents or as an awesome baby shower gift (you get the fun of making it and the mother gets the joy of not having to make it!)  ๐Ÿ˜‰

Okay, here’s the fine print:  Due to manufacturing difficulties, we won’t be able to get the rub-ons in prior to the expo, so the class will come WITHOUT the rub-ons as shown in the official marketing photo to the left!

Thanks guys!  I’ve gotta clean and then create, create, create … class samples for next quarter are due on Monday & I haven’t started, yet!  I’ll totally catch you later!  WIsh me luck with dinner ๐Ÿ˜‰ & hugs! *A*

  • Hi!  Do you remember me?  I remember you!  I feel like I’ve been gone for a month (not just from the blog, but from everything)!  I was gone but now I’m back!  Thank you for your concern!

A quick recap …  What I’ve been doing since June 25:

2006_06_29_018_5x7June 26 – 29:  We spent 4 wonderful days in Lake Powell!  Growing up, we always had a boat & in the summer we’d go waterskiing every Wednesday.  My parents would usually give us the choice of going to Lake Powell or Disneyland … well, for us the choice was obvious … Lake Powell!  It is so much fun to share this joy with my sons!

This photo, as well as the page banner up top, was taken on the hike (1.25 mi each way) into Rainbow Bridge.  Rainbow Bridge is a sacred place to the Indians and I too can feel the sacredness of it when I am there.

2006_06_30_075_5x7_1June 30:  My brother-in-law was remarried.  The ceremony and dinner were held at the Hotel Monaco in downtown Salt Lake.  It was beautiful!  Check out the gorgeous cake!

2006_07_01_006_5x7July 1 & 2:  Parties for my cute nephew (one at mom’s and one at dad’s).  Spiderman came to the party & decorated faces and tied balloons.  As is tradition, of course, there was a pinata!  (Check out Riley’s goose egg!)

    2006_07_04_011_5x7

July 4:  We went & saw Superman Returns with Bryan’s parents and then went to my parents for dinner & fireworks.  We were going to watch a movie outside on the patio but that was postponed because of the rain!  It’s funny, Neal was scared of the fireworks (flowers & tanks!).

July 5 – 10:  Aside from my grandparent’s birthday party (they were both born on July 3, just two years apart!) it was … Preparations for girls camp!

    2006_07_11_0012006_07_11_0032006_07_12_00112006_08_01_0022006_08_01_0062006_07_13_003_12006_07_14_014_5x72006_07_14_016

July 11 – 15 (highlights only):  I was the Assistant Stake Camp Director!  AAAHHH!!!  (There were 7 small groups or Wards and the Stake is over all 7)  The first night we were at girl’s camp we took just the Laurel’s (those girls who are 16 to 18).  We played games, set up tents for the Wards, ate dinner, and made icecream.

I was in charge of dinner.  We made my "Cafe Rio" salad.  It’s not really, but it’s fun to call it that!  It was a hit!  The icecream recipe was put in a mason jar inside a size 10 can & rolled until it was done (20 to 30 minutes).  We made vanilla icecream and had tons of toppings!

I also did the Stake Craft.  We made the boxes in the photos above.  Even the self-proclaimed "non-crafty" girls said they enjoyed making the boxes & I’ve been told they are the best craft the girls have done to date!

The YCL’s (Youth Camp Leaders ~ a representative from each ward) kidnapped the Stake Young Women’s Leader.  They thought we’d give into their demands, but they didn’t realize that "we don’t negotiate with terrorists".  The other leaders and I kidnapped one of the YCL’s and chased the others down and saved our fearless leader!  It was fun!

On Friday, we drove to Sundance and hiked to Stewart Falls.  It was beautiful hike and you couldn’t help but think about how amazing this world is.  Unfortunately, it was hot (105 degrees) and we  left too late in the day for some of the girls.  Next year, we’re hiking earlier.  I learned something on the hike:  It doesn’t matter how fast you make it to heaven, if you leave those you are responsible for behind.  I hope I can always remember that!

July 16-21:  I finished the license plate album (I’ll put it up later), when I was dropping it off, Neal walked into a counter at All My Memories and needed a staple in his head.  I taught Possibilities! on Wednesday.  Friday we took Riley to the doctor and he had shingles!  Welcome Back  :)!

July 22:  We drove to Logan to celebrate my nephew’s birthday.

July 24:  My parents read their mission call.  They’ve been called to the Salt Lake Inner-City Mission.  It’s nice because they’ll be able to stay at home and we can still see them!

July 25:  I turned in the album I’m teaching at Scrapbook USA (Sept. 22 & 23).  It’s called "The Greatest Gift" and used the new Genteel line.  And, sign-ups start Aug. 2, so be sure to check out the cool classes that me and the AMM Design Gals have come up with!

2006_07_28_002July 29:  I taught the first SplaSh class!  Check out my cute helpers!

Phew!  I think I’ve hit the highlights ~ I promise I’ll be better at posting!  I’ll put the license plate album, The Greatest Gift album and my Cafe Rio Salads up soon!  Also, the designs for Fall 2006 classes are due on the 14th, so

  • My dear friends, sign-ups have been going great at the store.  The open house was NOT as crazy this time.  I think it was a much more enjoyable experience for those who attended!  Again, there were cute make-n-takes and awesome classes!  There were still over 200 classes signed up for.  Although sign-ups were awesome, they weren’t CRAZY! so, for those of you who haven’t signed up yet, or are still deciding WHEN to take classes:  There is still room in my classes!

A quick poll, I NEED your help!:  For the wood letters in October, November and December’s class period, which two choices would you prefer:

    1.  spooky and gather (Thanksgiving)

    2.  gather and imagine

I’m going to be on vacation this week, so you’ll have until the day after the 4th to give me your opinion!  Can you believe it:  while I"m gone, I’m missing our first meeting regarding Oct, Nov, Dec’s classes!  It sneaks up on us TOO soon!  Thanks for your helpl!  TTFN & Happy 4th!  *A*

2006_05_24_001_72dpi_12006_05_24_002_72_dpi_1Here they are!  I am so thrilled with your response to the "snippets"!  It seems like it’s been forever since I put them up.  I hope you are even more excited about the full photos!  I am looking forward to our open house tonight!  If you can’t make it to the open house (767 E 12300 S), you CAN always call (801)572-9199)!  Here’s the scoop:

    "Possibilities!":  July 20, August 16 and September 15 from 6:00 to 8:30.

    "SplaSh":  July 29 & August 5; 9:30 – 12:30, 1:30 – 4:30, 5:30 – 8:30

    "LeaRn":  Sept. 2 & Sept. 9; 9:30 – 12:30, 1:30 – 4:30, 5:30 – 8:30

Designer’s Night:  Sept. 30  (you must either bring your own license plate or get it later) from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm (it’s a Saturday).

Oh, yeah, Designer’s Night.   Once a month an AMM Design Team member teaches a class at the store.  It is held ONCE, so only 16 people get to take it, and is $20.  I get to do it in September.  My idea has been approved, but I haven’t finished designing it, yet.  And … there’s a 99% chance that I won’t get it done tomorrow.  But, here are a couple snippets:  2006_06_16_0032006_06_16_002

The reason why you will need to provide your own license plate … is that I didn’t know which ones you would want.  If I went to California, that’s what I would want.  Okay, where can you find license plates?  ebay, antique stores, the DMV – really!

Thank you for your interest & support!  *A*

  • Yesterday was a nice day.  We made Breakfast Pizza (click for link to recipe) for Father’s Day breakfast.  My boys love it, it’s easy & DELICIOUS!  We gave my husband an ipod "pocket" (it’s a cradle & speakers) as our 5 year old calls it.  We went to Stake Conference, visited MY grandpa & my dad.  My mother & father-in-law came in from Alaska & we weren’t able to hook up with them yesterday, so we’re going to today.

    Daddy_daughter_date_adj

I am grateful for my father.  He is a man who has so many feelings that he doesn’t always know how to share them, but they are there.  It took me a while to recognize them ~ and I am grateful that I have figured it out.  I would truly miss having my dad in my life or the life of my sons.  It’s fun.  He gave "coupons" to the grandkids for Christmas.  My son’s were for different places for lunch or a treat every month & there were two "surprise" ones that have been used at toys-r-us.  But the great thing about it is the time they spend together & the relationship they have/are building.

    2006_06_18_003_bw

I am grateful for my sweet husband and the hard work he does for our family.  He is always available to help others when needed.  In fact, he and the boys went to his parents and mowed the lawn for his dad so he wouldn’t have to do it when he got home.  It’s nice to have that example for the boys!

I’ve started a new photo album.  It’s called: bloominRECIPES.  If I mention a recipe in my ramblings here, I’ll put it in there.  You can just click on the image & print it, or save it to your computer.  As some of you know, I absolutely HATE cooking dinner!  Mostly it’s just coming up with the idea of what to make.  So, I thought that I’d put some of our favorite recipes in here to help you when you are in a cooking slump!  I don’t have the biggest cooking repetior, but (at least I think) the FEW things I DO cook are really good.

Tomorrow is the BIG day:  You can begin signing up for next quarter’s classes so … come back tomorrow to see ALL my new classes (July, Aug., Sept.)!  You’re going to love them!  thanks!  *A*

  • Okay, I just spent the last 45 minutes typing a post.  Complete with cool links and everything!  But something happened (Riley turned off the computer) and I lost it!  So … Now I’ll just do a quick summary:

    1.  Lindsey E. won the AMM schwagg!  Lindsey, I’ll get it to you tomorrow at Liberty!

    2.  Father’s Day idea:  Fathers_love_complete_72dpi_4Fathers_love_72dpi_1I designed these for the AMM Design Team.  It is in the store on display.  So you can check it out in person!  Okay, since it was a DT project, it’s all AMM products!  I used the Couture: Suave line of paper, ribbon & monogram alphabet stickers.  The metal says "a father’s love" and the rub-ons on the Large clothes pin are the Expressions alphabet (white).  I mounted the "page" on chipboard to make it more strong (I was worried it would flop over).  I got the Large Clothes Pin at Taipan in Sandy (9000 So. 400 W., approximately).  My dad and dad-in-law are getting them.  BTW, my clothes pins were silver, I just took them apart and painted them (one side at a time).  So don’t worry if you can’t find black (or the exact color you want).

I had some personal stuff up, including a recipe … but, I have to go to like 4 stores for Liberty tomorrow & I need to finish the kits, so I’ll put that stuff up on Monday!  Have a fun weekend!  TTFN!  *A*
