• I’ll post our winning chair & more details on Tuesday, but WE WON!

  • Happy Birthday Banner

I’ll be on GTU Monday, March 10 between 10 and 11 am.  I’ll be demonstrating this fun Happy Birthday Banner!

My oldest is having a birthday next weekend.  He was so excited that I made this for his birthday that I hope I can get mine made in time!  I actually just put together another “happy” for Monday’s show and it took just over an hour to complete it, so it’s a quick project (deceptively so!).

Anyway, guess what!?  AMM is selling this as a KIT!  You can come in or call anytime after I’m on air and reserve yours!  Since most of this is made with CHA products that have not been shipped, it is a PREORDER and will be ready to pick up after the 24th (just two weeks).  We’re only putting 100 kits together, so be fast or you’ll get left out!  You can order the kit two different ways:

    1.  $ 40 for a Complete kit (2 Scrapworks acrylic albums, Basic Grey Cupcake paper pad, Scenic Route Chipboard Alphabet, Basic Grey How Old Rub-ons, Bazzill & American Crafts Ribbon, Bazzill flowers & fun brads)

    2.  $ 50 for a Complete kit plus Basic Grey Flourish Corners Stamp set (a $15 value)

This Saturday March 8th, Tamara, Mandi, Shyloh, and I will be competing as the “All My Memories Team” in the “Decor Off” in the Spring Home and Garden Festival at the South Towne Expo Center.  We’ll be competing against Design Teams from Making Memories, Roberts Crafts, and CK Media.

The objective??  We will have two hours to alter a wood Adirondack chair any way we want!  The Home Show’s Celebrity Guests will judge our handiwork and the chairs will be on display the remainder of the show.  After the show, the chairs will then be donated to Primary Children’s Medical Center.

We’ve had a couple of meetings already and have some fun ideas planned!  Join us this Saturday (March 8) at the South Towne Expo AmberCenter from 1-3 p.m.  But, remember, we’ll be working!  So don’t feel bad if we don’t stop to talk!

  • Kristi said I could share her email with you.

“Amber – I am so sad to hear about the store closing 😦 I’m guessing you are getting bombarded with emails and stuff so I’m sorry to bother you and/or stress you out more potentially, but we are just so confused… Are they looking for a new location or are they closing for good (it sounds like the latter, maybe I’m just in denial)? How will I survive without your fabulous classes and all the great products at AMM? I used to shop at a lot of stores but lately AMM is the only one that cuts it and it’s so convenient, aaahhh! If you are allowed to share anything, I would love to know more. Will there be a new store? Are they looking? If not, what are your plans? I hope it doesn’t affect you too aversely and I know your talent will allow you other opportunities but my girlfriends and I are still just so sad and confused! ~Kristi”

I owe you, my friends, a BIG apology!  I’m kind of funny some times … I think that I have to have all the answers before I can respond.  It hasn’t been fair to not be on the blog giving updates or “I don’t know’s”.  I also feel there is so much to write that I don’t know where to start, so I haven’t (until now).

THANK YOU! to everyone who has contacted me one way or another wondering where I was going.  I spent 10 hours two Saturday’s ago speaking with many of the wonderful students we get to teach at AMM.

Here’s what I know:  Yes, the store is closing.  There is a company who wants our space and is willing to pay a lot more than we are currently paying and sign a long lease.  AMM could have stayed in our current spot if our owner would have agreed to the same terms.  It wasn’t an option.  Jorjana tried to negotiate a move within the complex and that didn’t work.  So this is where we are … closing.  If there is a miracle and something changes I promise, I’ll let you know.

As of now, no new store is planned.  There is a teacher (Shyloh) who is starting an online scrapbooking company.  She is also thinking of hosting classes.  I have been invited to join her, but I’m not sure what I’d like to do.  We have talked about for sure having me teach the Magnet Board class!  I have committed to Shyloh to teach an acrylic album class at the Scrapbook USA Expo.

    • Class Name:  What a Beautiful Life
    • Class Cost:  $30
    • Friday, April 18 from 4:30 – 6:00
    • Saturday, April 19 from 10:30 – 12:00

I have been offered a job from one of my MOST favorite companies and turned it down because it was full-time and I would need to go “in” to work.

I will be fine.  I’ve gotten over being scared and looking forward to what may be in my future.  To be honest, I haven’t really looked.  I’d like to continue going on GTU, designing, doing most of my work from home, and teaching!  When I figure it out, you’ll be the first ones to know!  PROMISE.

  • It was the last YW BBall game this morning.  The last game we had (two weeks ago) we forfeited and the girls asked us leaders to play with them.  Only one leader, Dalene, had athletic shoes.  She thinks she’s too old to play, so Rachel wore her shoes.  She’s not too old.  Well, Rachel had so much fun playing (wink!) & I was worried that we might forfeit today, so I brought my shoes.

Sure enough, when it was time for the game to start, we only had 4 girls so they sent in the pinch hitter … me.  By the end of the 1st quarter we had 5 players and I only needed to be a back up.  We had a lot of fun and won the game.  Apparently I was the spark they Amberneeded.  uh huh!?  It was fun.  I even scored!

IMG_7468Today I altered a Making Memories Desktop Organizer on Good Things Utah.  It was fun, as usual!  I’m so lucky to be able to go on the show!

I hope you have fun making yours!Amber

  • 2008_02_04_008

While in Costco on Saturday, B and the boys walked past the flowers.  When Neal saw them he said “Dad, we should get mom some flowers”.  That’s all it took for Bryan to be persuaded to make the purchase.  I came home from working at All My Memories to these beautiful flowers (I love Calla Lilies) from my three sweethearts.

Today, Riley and I were at Costco picking up pictures and he wanted to get me some more flowers.  We didn’t buy them today.  It’s just not the same if I buy them.

It’s made me think about being the only girl.  I love boys!  I’ve said before that I wouldn’t know what to do with a girl.  I’ve never had to live with one (besides my mom, of course).  Aside from the usual sibling fights, my brothers have always taken really good care of me.  My sons open my doors and fight over me.  I’m not saying it’s a competition thing, but I LOVE being the only girl!

  • Susie!  Amber

Thanks to everyone who voted on my layouts!  Have a good weekend!
