Thank you. I am lucky to have you by my side!

    Something to think about:

Earlier this year, I contacted MarDel Photography about purchasing our negatives.  They were available to purchase for $90.  When I went to pick them up, the receptionist said that someone else had called wanting to purchase their negatives (they were married a year or two earlier than Bryan and I) and their negatives had been destroyed.

If you got married in the non-digital age, I would HIGHLY recommend you contact your photographer and purchase the negatives.  I also have a waiverAmber from MarDel giving me permission to use the photos as I please.

I would LOVE to see you there!

  • Yep, you know me.  I break laws at every turn.  However, I realized today that my driver’s license expired on my birthday – THREE months ago!

Luckily I didn’t get pulled over.  Do you think the cop that pulled me over would have bought that excuse!?

Pshew!  Now I can go back to being the nice, law-abiding citizen that I am!

  • My friend, Misty Choate, designed Bo Bunny’s Popsicle line.  I thought that Mango Luau was my favorite of their spring releases.  And I do love it, but Popsicle, with it’s bright, fun colors and amazing wave swirls is quickly surpassing it.  My last two Bo Bunny Blog projects have featured Popsicle.  Thanks Misty for designing such a fun line for me to play with!

  • Today is Pioneer Day here in Utah.  On July 24, 1847, the Mormon Pioneers entered the Salt Lake Valley.  This is my heritage and I am grateful for the sacrifices those pioneers made.  After being a “Ma” for Trek two summers ago, this day has even more meaning for me (read this and this).

We started today with a fun breakfast at Rebecca & Troy’s.  They were brave enough to have the four cousins who live close come join their two children for a backyard camp out.  Neal, at 8, is the oldest of the bunch.  I told you they were brave!  Our boys could hardly contain their excitement all week and had a FABULOUS time (thanks guys!).

After breakfast, we traveled up I-15 to Bountiful to drop off my CHA assignments for My Mind’s Eye.  They turned out so good!

At 6:30 we met at my parents for the evenings festivities.  What a fun night we had tonight on the Heber Valley Railroad Fiddlers & Fireworks train ride.  We have a few boys who absolutely adore Thomas the Tank Engine.  So, anything dealing with a train is out of this world!  The train ride was fun, the boys ate a TON of pizza (N: 5 slices, R: 4 slices), and the fireworks were amazing.

No, really, they were AMAZING, there is something magical when you watch fireworks over a lake.  The reflection off the lake is awe-inspiring.  I just started taking a photography class and was super-excited about trying to take pictures of the fireworks.  I came armed with shutter-speed and aperture suggestions from Pictureline and a mono-pod.  Unfortunately with the boys and the cramped quarters, I got this:  2009_07_24_0110a

Oh, well … I hope you had a great day, too!

  • While trying to come up with the "perfect" picture to use on a layout using Ooh La La for Him, I KNEW I had to use the gorgeous pictures Bryan's sister, Rebecca, took of our family last year.  She is a fabulous photographer with a soft, classic style.  While on vacation in Jackson Hole, I thought she and I would go in the field and we'd each take pictures of our kids (we're on vacation, right?).  No, she was so generous with her time and talents and took the time to take these amazing photos:

  • Don't you think the word "pause" is a great word?  Sometimes I wish there was a pause button on life.  Our DVD player won't stay paused for a long time, just a couple of minutes.  That's all I need.  Can I just pause life for two minutes?  Let me pause … to think?

I did that today when I found this note in a book I was reading when I was pregnant with Neal.  I wrote this note for myself just days after finding out I was pregnant.  Yes, within the first week, I was going to IV therapy.  Being pregnant sure explained explained a lot.  I continued IV therapy for most of my pregnancy and was put home health care and eventually bed rest for the last few months.

Seeing this note not only reminded me of why we're happy with two children, but how grateful and lucky I am to have them.  I'm so glad my Father in Heaven has trusted me (us) with our two sweeties.Amber

Added later: I just ran across this great quote.

"Learn to pause … or nothing worthwhile will catch up to you" unknown.
