6 months after reserving our lot…
4 months after moving from our house…
We have a hole!
On Thursday, we met the agent from Candlelight and our foreman to make sure that where they had the stakes was where we would like our home. It was fun! We could see the entire outline of the house on our property. It was also cold and windy but we knew this was possibly the last day that we would have a lot with nothing on it.
We were told that they would dig the hole either Friday or Monday. We got a call from my friend, Tamara, saying that the back hoe was on our lot ready to go.
We waited until we were all home so that we could go out together. It’s funny to think we are so excited about a hole. But, it’s OUR hole!
Inside that hole, they are going to build a rambler – OUR home! I’m excited to share with you some of the fun things our builder is doing to help us make our house as unique and individual as we are!
They are pouring our footings tomorrow morning – we’ll have a foundation by the end of the week. This ride is just getting going!
I decided tonight that I need to keep track of what they did and when so that we will have a good record to look back on. Wish me luck!
Bryan and I spoke in sacrament meeting yesterday (our main meeting). Our topic was service. I shared some of the lessons I’ve learned about serving – mainly through the times that I didn’t perform as well as I should. I love speaking in church – don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to do it every week, but I love what I gain from the preparation. I am spiritually fed. I shared a recount from one of my favorite conference talks about a statue of Christ that was destroyed in WWII and what the town did when they restored it. You can find the story here.
I’ve had a busy month creating (the April Hobby Lobby Ad) and designing getting the My Mind’s Eye guys ready for CHA. I’ll share my CHA layouts with you soon!
Happy Monday!
