• Something fun happened to me the other day.  I got home from running errands and came up from air after kitting for the expo and what did I see in my email?  An email from Linda Fantin at the Salt Lake Tribune.  She was wondering if I would let her use my Escape layout from Possibilities! last quarter as the workshop for her monthly scrapbook article.  I thought long and hard about it (all of 2 seconds) and told her sure!  Click here to print the article.  This is a monthly article, so remember to check it out!  *A*

    {Linda’s friend, Rebecca, completed the page.  It’s always fun to see what someone else does with my designs}

  • I had a LOT of fun on GTU!  The ladies are always so gracious.  It was really cool, I guess I’ve been on enough that they’re starting to recognize me and I got a hug from Angie, Reagan and Nicea.  The ladies remember my boys and asked about them and we talked about their families.  I felt like I was part of the "family" while I was there and even got to approach the ladies while they were at the table!  wink!

Angie said a really cool thing to me.  She said that she is always excited when we are on because we always have "classy" projects!  WOO HOO!  We are actually trying to work out being on the show on a regular basis.  I’d like to have someone on the show once a month … like every second Wednesday.

Here is a pic of the project I demonstrated.  I used Making Memories, Basic Grey and My Mind’s Eye products (my top three!).  It is one of my most favorite projects, ever!  I LOVE IT!

Anyway, here’s a link to the video and project info!

    ENJOY!  Amber

  • I guess I’m showing my age, but I have been having fun listening to "the Boss" this morning on the Today Show.  I’ve sung along with songs from my youth … My Home Town had to be my favorite!  I didn’t realize Springstein has been singing since before I was born!  I guess when you are a teenager and "discover" someone new, you always think they just started and then you get surprised to learn they’ve been around for 10 years or so … and even worse, your PARENTS like them, too!  (The same thing happened with another favorite band, U2)  I can remember "rocking" out to Springstein, Neil Diamond, Barry Manilow, the Beach Boys, the Monkeys and many other "greats".  It’s amazing how music can bring back emotions!

And, by the way, Springstein and Bono are still HOT!  They’re just "old hotties!"

Well, I’ve got to go finish getting ready for the Expo!  I’ll see you there: South Towne Expo Center.  9575 South State Street, Sandy, UT.  I’ll be there from 3:30 until about 6:30 so look for me!

Also, there are still a few spots available in today’s class.  So, if you are not doing anything from 4:30 until 6:00, come join me!  Here’s a link to the class info.

    Hugs!  Amber

coming up:  a three year old’s birthday!

  • I’m going to be on Good Things Utah next Wednesday, September 26th! WOO HOO!  I know it sounds funny, but I really like to do it.  It’s fun to think of a new project, fun to dress up, fun to challenge myself.  As long as I don’t trip or anything (as I’m prone to do) then I’ll keep doing it ~ as long as they’ll have me!

I will be demonstrating a new, never been seen before, project … an altered magnet board.  I’ve wanted to do this for a while, but I haven’t had the time to do it for myself … so, no time like the present, right!?

I’ll post a link to the show after I’ve been on, but if you’d like to watch it "live" watch channel 4 (locally) from 10:00 – 11:00 am on Sept. 26.

Also, Tamara will be on Fox 13‘s Good Day Utah with Big Budah on September 28 at 8:39 am!  Don’t miss her smiling face & fun project!

    Hugs to all!  Amber

I feel like I’ve been running since we got home from Lake Powell (I think I’ve mentioned this before).  Today I’m designing a board for the store with Making Memories’ Christmas Line!  So fun!  I’m really liking their Holiday lines (and I’m not a cheesy holiday line girl) … I think it’s because they’re not "cheesy"!

I actually took the time to "play" with my scrapbook stash & this is what I came up with.  My friends, family and I will be using this layout for our 2008 Calendars.

I’ve put the supplies needed to recreate this layout on the All My Memories Retail Store blog.  Please click here to be linked to the info.

    I hope you enjoy!  Amber

“Live the life you’ve imagined!” –Henry David Thoreau.  When we use our imaginations, our potential is limitless.  This whimsical set of letters is designed using the Periphery line from Basic Grey.  You will love the subtle blues, greens and browns.  The letters are tastefully embellished with swirly rub-ons, bling, tabs, clips, flowers, journaling tags, ribbon and a ribbon tag.

BTW, my imagine and Tamara’s memory blocks are designed with the same paper.  They would look great together!

You will go beyond the basics when you learn new techniques and new twists on old ones.  You will learn to expect the unexpected.  Using the most “hip” papers and embellishments, you will make two 2-page layouts and two 1-page layouts for a total of 6 pages.

  • FUNNIEST commercial!  I was rolling on the ground laughing.  Anyway, I thought you’d like to see it too click here.  I think most of their commercials are hilarious!

Guess what I just did?  I’m so excited I can’t stand it!  I just got back from My Mind’s Eye picking up their to new lines … Festive and Frost.  It’s a Memory Trends release so it officially doesn’t come out until next month.  But, I have it and … you’ll get to see it next week at the Fabulous Fall Open House at All My Memories (Thursday, September 13 from 6 – 9 pm).  I’ve been trying to find the perfect paper to design the Christmas Frame Up class in … and now I have it!  You know how I love MME’s products.

BTW, there are still SOME of the amazing packets we had at the sale (and I used one to make the samples for my spot on Studio 5).  They’re a $60 – $70 value for only $20!  But, when they’re gone, they’re gone!

A couple of questions I need to answer:

    1. Neal cured the "bully", no more problems … for now.  I think it helped that he told him he didn’t like it and he wouldn’t let him do it to his friends either.  I’ve made Neal promise that he won’t call the boy a bully anymore.  I’d hate for him to be stuck with that "label" because of Neal & his friends.
    2. The shirt … isn’t that funny!  It’s nice so many people have such great taset.  I’d never noticed that the boy in the background is dressed almost the same as Neal.  I haven’t purchased any new clothes for Neal (he’s really suffering, too) … but I bought it at Old Navy last year.  One day last spring, Neal came out wearing that outfit.  He’d picked it out all by himself … good taste, huh!?

I’ll put up Sneak Peeks of my upcoming classes on Monday!  Be sure to check back!  HUGS!  Amber
