When you put so much effort into decorating your house, how can you add “regular” pumpkins in your home décor? Especially when you can create designer pumpkins so easily! Not that there is anything wrong with “regular” pumpkins. *wink*
Hazel and Ruby stencil-masks and Chalk Art Tool Kit combined with faux pumpkins and paints are a winning combination in my book!
I like to decorate for Halloween in black and white, but wanted to add a punch of color, so I added GOLD. With a few of our grandparent’s gold antiques in our house, it’s a natural fit. Besides, it’s definitely an IT color at the moment!
Guess what!?

Gold with white polka dots:
I painted the pumpkin white (I bought a white one, but it was more cream than I would like). I the sealed the white paint with mod podge and added the Confetti Pattern Stencil-Mask randomly. I painted the pumpkin using gold leaf paint. (FYI – gold leaf paint does not clean off as easily as gold metallic acrylic paint)

White with black bats:
I painted the first layer black, and cut out my own bat masks using a Cut Your Own Stencil Mask and my Silhouette die. I then applied the bats to the pumpkin and painted the pumpkin white. I then painted the stem gold.

Chalk Pumpkin:
I sprayed this pumpkin with 3 coats of black chalk paint. When dry, I spelled “spooky” using the La Patessiere Alpha stencil-mask (such a beautiful on-trend font). Love it! I used the chalk marker from the Chalk Art Tool Kit to trace around the letters. I then removed the letters and filled in the letters using the chalk marker.
