I wanted to share with you the Cinematic Memories DVD of our family we filmed in July.  We finally got it today and I’m so glad we had it done.  Our friend, Haylee Bean took the still photos and the Amazing Tucker Dansie (no, he doesn’t wear a cape – but maybe he will now.  Any thoughts, Tucker?) filmed the video.

I am so thrilled to have this video as another way to preserve our family.  (even if my butt is too big and my arms need to be firmed, etc. you know how girls are)  I want my Son’s children and their children to know who we are.  I’m sure they won’t be as judgmental of me as I am.

Tucker works on the team that produces the Mormon Messages that the LDS Church uploads to YouTube.  He’s REALLY good!  I was watching one called “My Burden Was Made Light”.  I remember this man, this story.  It happened near where I live.  At the time, I remember thinking could I do the same?

As I watched this and saw the videos of Brother William’s family, I was overcome with emotion.  We didn’t have a camcorder  and I realized that if anything were to ever happen to my family, I would want to be able to see for myself or have them be able to see how we interacted, our mannerisms, the sound of our voice.

I love watching how Bryan said something to me and seeing the way I interact with him, watching the boys talk and pass the ball.  I love seeing Riley jump off the platform because to Riley things like that were made for jumping from.  I love seeing Riley yawn because he’s tired, Neal’s follow-through on his shot that he learned at basketball camp and so many other things I can’t name them all.

The abandoned building with the Jazz logo and “Packer” painted on the side is a piece of our history, too.  Bryan’s Grandpa Packer started Packer Glass Co. and that abandoned building is the first of two locations.  Both locations are now closed, but his uncle still runs PGC.

We were able to pick the song.  I felt a great responsibility in this, that what song we chose would be an “anthem” for our family – something that echoes our personalities now and is a guide for the future.  Bryan and I chose Dream Big by Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband (I love that song).  Riley was singing along as we watched the video, just a few more times and he may be brainwashed enough.

Thank you, Tucker (and Haylee) for providing our family with a real Ambertreasure.

(p.s. We bought a camcorder, too)
