1.  Riley is NOT, I repeat NOT allergic to bee stings!  How do we know this?  He and his cousin Ethan were throwing rocks at my parent's fence.  Unfortunately, there was a beehive at the bottom of the fence and the bees did not appreciate having rocks thrown at their home.  Here's what happened:

  • The bees came out mad and stung the boys.
  • The boys ran in my parents home screaming.
  • While trying to figure out why the boys were screaming, Riley announces "they're crawling all over me!"
  • My dad took off Riley's shirt and released the stuck bees.
  • To thank him, they stung both he and my mom.
  • After killing the rest of the bees, there was finally time to assess the damage:  Riley – 6 bee stings, Ethan – 2 bee stings, mom – 1 bee sting, dad – 1 bee sting.

This was Riley's first bee sting.  Aren't we lucky that he's not allergic!  It could have been a really scary situation, rather than a mildly funny one.

2.  The best way to not get in trouble for throwing rocks at the fence?  Get stung by six bees!2008_08_31_0001

3.  I'm not good at waxing my legs!  Actually, I just can't read  directions properly and that is apparently a bad thing when you are trying to wax your legs!  (update: I now have a rash to match my beautiful bruises!  I guess I'M allergic!)  Oh, well, they'll heal … I guess that's what vanity will get me!Amber

yikes!! poor riley!! i didn’t know you can get bruises from waxing your legs?! i tried to wax my legs when i was 18 and i apparently wasn’t very smart and smeared the wax ALL OVER my legs and then stuck the cloth on top.. well there weren’t any sections so i had to melt the wax to get it off. good times.
