My friend, Carey, has been making calendars for years. I began in 2005 when I taught the “12 Months of Memories” Calendar class at All My Memories in Draper, UT. They are really fun and people look forward to receiving them, however they are really time consuming.
Last year Carey and I got smart. We started designing our 2008 calendars in February. We split up the months we would design so we each designed 1/2 the calendar. We had a few other friends that wanted to do it also and owe us big time! When the paper was in the store, we bought our supplies and gathered it all together. We then worked on them when we had the time. Some us (Carey) diligently had them done within a week and others (like me) diligently gathered my “kits”. I then worked on a few months at a time a couple of times last year. Although it didn’t save me from putting my pictures on the calendars the night before I gave the gift, it doesn’t take that long to apply photos.
Tomorrow (January 16) on Good Things Utah I will get the ball rolling for all of us with ideas for January and February.
